چکیده

Using fine recycled concrete aggregates (FRCA) in manufacturing points towards achieving sustainability aggregate valorisation. The higher absorption and amount of hardened cement paste FRCA may impair performance. One the most influenced properties is drying shrinkage; this because extra content porosity deformability when compared to natural sand. Thus, influence on shrinkage appears depend quality how its considered during mix design. In study, mineralogy evaluated, also considering compensation rates. addition, feasibility different models predict ultimate analysed. water cause effects according property evaluated. storage inside particles causes no (or even a beneficial influence) concretes. Models used estimate show they are still reliable with use FRCA.

Drying shrinkage of concrete made from recycled concrete aggregate

Recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) are used in new concrete mixes, termed recycled aggregate concrete (RAC). Among losses in most fresh and hardened properties, literature reports that RAC suffers increased levels of drying shrinkage compared to equivalent mixes incorporating conventional aggregates. This paper describes the procedure and results of a range of experiments conducted on a commerc...

Performance of High-strength Concrete Made with Recycled Ceramic Aggregates

Recent scientific concerns to achieve sustainability in construction have suggested the implementation of using recycled aggregate in concrete because it has the potential to reduce the demand for extraction of natural raw materials and decrease the volume of wastes landfilled. In this respect, this study aims to investigate the suitability of using ceramic tile (CT) and ceramic sanitary (CS) w...

Increased Durability of Concrete Made with Fine Recycled Concrete Aggregates Using Superplasticizers

This paper evaluates the influence of two superplasticizers (SP) on the durability properties of concrete made with fine recycled concrete aggregate (FRCA). For this purpose, three families of concrete were tested: concrete without SP, concrete made with a regular superplasticizer and concrete made with a high-performance superplasticizer. Five volumetric replacement ratios of natural sand by F...

Investigating properties of fresh and hardened self-compacting concrete made of recycled aggregates

Self-compacting concrete is a new high performance concrete with high ductility and segregation resistance. In recent years, construction material manufacturers have focused their attention on lightweight concrete and have strived to use lightweight concrete, if possible, in load-bearing parts of buildings. Concrete with both self-compacting and lightweight properties is favourable in this cont...

Life Cycle Assessment of Sustainable Concrete Made With Recycled Aggregates

The results of an environmental study on concrete manufacture that follows the standard protocol of life cycle assessment are shown in this document. The study has been done for seven types of concrete: one conventional and six containing cement kiln dust (10%), marble sludge (10%) and demolition waste (10%, 80% and 100%) respectively, in partial or total substitution of natural aggregate. Six ...
